building, began construction in 1978 and was completed in 1986. It consolidated various small libraries into one central hub for knowledge at University of Ruhuna. Over the past 36 years, it has amassed a vast collection of books from around the world, greatly enriching academic resources. Recognizing its importance in academia, the library underwent a significant renovation, costing Rs. 169 million. On February 22, 2024, the refurbished library was unveiled, promising university community a renewed space for learning and exploration.<\/p>\n<p>The chief guest, Senior Prof. Sujeewa Amarasena, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence.
