Mr. Nimal Hettiarachchi, officially assumed duties as the Librarian on 16/01/2023 in the presence of Maha Sangha and Senior Prof. Sujeewa Amarasena/ The Vice Chancellor of University of Ruhuna. Prof. E. P. Saman Chandana/ The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Faculty Deans, Department Heads, and academics, as well as Registrar, Bursar, and non-academic staff. All of the Library academic and non-academic staff also participated at the event.
Mr. Nimal Hettiarachchi graduated from University of Ruhuna with a B.Sc. degree with first-class honors in Mathematics and Mr. Nimal Hettiarachchi joined to University of Ruhuna on 13/05/1991 as a Temporary instructor and later he joined the Library at the University of Ruhuna on 11/03/1996 as an Assistant Librarian. On completion of a MSSc in Library and Information Science University of Kelaniya, he was promoted to the Senior Assistant Librarian Grade II on 01 November 2001 and Senior Assistant Librarian Grade I on 16 August 2005. Then he was promoted to Deputy Librarian on 21/04/2021 and he has served as the Acting Librarian from 22/10/2019 to 21/11/2021. University of Ruhuna wishes him all the best for his achievement and all future endeavors.
