Mrs W.D.H.P. Guruge is currently working as the Staff Assistant (Library Services) at the Library, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna. She started her career as a Library Information Assistant in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. In 2009, she joined the Allied Health Science library, University of Ruhuna. In 2021 she was transferred to the Engineering Faculty Library.

• Diploma in Library and Information Science Part I in University of Kelaniya, 2009.

• Member of Sri Lanka University Library Information Assistant Officers Association (SLULIAOA ) since 2000.

• Successfully completed the Certificate in English for Careers held in 1998 in University Colombo.
  Participated for a Workshop on Towards Quality Services Conducted By University of Peradeniya Library Network on 2008.
• Participated for a Workshop on Communication Skills and Professional Ethics conducted by the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka in 2016.
• Participated for a Refresher Workshop on Acquisition process for Library Information Assistants conducted by the Main Library, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2018.
• Participated for a Workshop on Information Retrieval Techniques for Library Information Assistants conducted by the Main Library, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2023.
