Mr S. Jayananda is currently working as the Senior Staff  Assistant at the Library, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna. He started his career as a Library Assistant attached to the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies (University of Kelaniya). In 2001, he was promoted to Library Assistant Grade III, and in 2007 promoted to Library Assistant Grade II. Throughout his career, he passed several milestones, and in 2012 he was promoted to Library Assistant Grade I, in 2017 to Staff  Assistant, and in 2022 to Senior Staff Assistant.

• Diploma in Library and Information Science, Sri Lanka Library Association, 2007.

• Member of Sri Lanka Library Association since 2016 (Associateship).
• Member of Sri Lanka University Library Information Assistant Officers Association (SLULIAOA) since 2007.

Participation in Continuous Professional Development Programmes/Workshops

• Successfully completed the Certificate Course in Library Automation conducted by the Sri Lanka Library Association in 2004.
• Successfully completed the Certificate Course in Advanced Training Programmed for Library Assistant conducted by the National Institute of Library  Information Science (NILIS) in 2009.
• Participated for a Workshop on Development of Information Technology Skills for Library Information Assistants conducted by the Main Library, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2017.
• Participated for a "Refresher Workshop on Acquisition Process for Library Information Assistants conducted by the Main Library, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2018.
• Participated for a Workshop on Information Retrieval Techniques for Library Information Assistants conducted by the Main Library, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2023.
