Mrs. Umani Bogahawatta, who joined the library at the University of Ruhuna in September 1992, marked a long journey in her career and retired in November 2023. Before joining the University of Ruhuna Library, she also had seven years of work experience at the University of Peradeniya.
Throughout her tenure, she became a remarkable character on our team due to her enthusiastic and sincere service and camaraderie with the staff members. During her tenure at the Library, University of Ruhuna, she has been working in every division of the library, including reader services, acquisition, periodicals section, and Ceylon room, etc. At the time of her retirement, she was working as a senior staff assistant attached to the Cataloging Division.
In saying farewell to Mrs. Umani Bogahawatta, we remember her hard work, dedication, and contributions to our library with fondness and gratitude. We wish her success in all her future endeavours.
