The Library of the University of Ruhuna successfully conducted a comprehensive orientation program on 29th April 2025 at the Faculty of Agriculture, specifically designed for first-year students of the Agri Business Management, Green Technology, and Agricultural Resource Management and Technology degree programs.

This full-day session was coordinated and conducted by Assistant Librarian, Ms. Inosha Madushani Amarasekara. The program commenced with an engaging introductory lecture that highlighted the vital role of the library in academic success. Students were introduced to key library services, digital resources, access to scholarly databases, research support tools, and information literacy skills.
In the second half of the day, students participated in a guided library tour, where they explored various collections, reading spaces, digital access points, and support services. The interactive session not only helped students navigate the library confidently but also encouraged them to view the library as a vibrant hub for learning and research.
The orientation marked an important first step in helping students develop effective study habits and make the most of the academic resources available to them throughout their university life.
