A one-day workshop on “Koha” Library Management System was held on 24th February 2022 at the Student Reading Room of the Main Library, University of Ruhuna. The target audience of this workshop was the newly appointed library staff at the University of Ruhuna, including Assistant Librarians, Library Information Assistants, and Library Attendants. The main objective of this workshop was to introduce the “Koha” Library Management System to the newly recruited Assistant Librarians.
The contents of the workshop covered important components of the tool such as cataloging, report generating, user privileges, and safer use. The paraprofessional staff of the library was educated about patron adding, editing, and cataloging. This workshop was organized by Mr. Lal Pannila, Acting Librarian of the university and Mr. Nimal Hettiarachchi, Senior Assistant Librarian (Technical Services) served as the resource person. Nearly 30 staff members participated in the workshop.
